Tonight Chris and I rented the rink for an hour and it was GREAT. We haven’t had a real “practice” for YEARS, so this was pretty nice. Worked on some good deflection stuff, did some one timer crap, and played a game of HORSE with a big board in front of the net (holes cut out in corners and stuff).

 

I got to try out two of my new sticks too.

 

1. The one90 pro stock. I do NOT like it at all. The ONLY thing that it has going for it is the good deflections it does with the wedge blade. Everything else sucks. Looking forward to selling it ASAP. I hope I find a buyer.

 

2. The TPS I got with the new gloves. It is a pretty whippy flex, so it was wild. I actually liked the stick and blade. I might even keep the sticks. I could cut them just a tad and they should be perfect. I really like the texture it has from the carbon weave.

 

Chris managed to totally crack the blade on his Vapor XXV. I think he has used it maybe 4 times. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Sadly, the 30 warranty won’t work for it.     He might want the TPS that I have though.

 

 

Also, I do NOT like the Vapor XXXX pro gloves I picked up. They just don’t feel right. I don’t want used gloves ever again.

Here is one of the new sticks I got.

I know that the shaft is a TPS Response, but that’s it. Which one is it?  R8?  R6?

I’m PRETTY sure the blade is a Reebok 7k pro stock. Modano pattern.

444 grams with blade. Pretty light. That’s right under 1 pound.

 

The Reebok blade. Very nice pattern to it.

 

 

The shaft. Seems like your typical 1×1 weave. The shaft is textured. Nice.

 

Where the shaft meets the blade. The carbon weave stops about an inch from the end.

 

 

 

Also, about 3/4 of the way up the stick is a point where it seems like 2 pieces were put together. Both the sticks are EXACTLY the same right there. I think TPS has a dual flex design or something. Maybe this is how they do it?

new hockey stuff

Just got some new (used) equipment. NICE stuff too. Stuff I wouldn’t normally buy, but I got killer deals.

1.  A pair of Nike Bauer Vapor XXXX pro gloves. Slightly used, but still in great condition. I never figured I would get a pair because they are a bit more than I would care to pay. These things are $130 new.

2. A pair of sticks. I’m not 100% sure about what they are, but I know they are Louisville TPS response carbon shafts with Reebok 7k (pretty sure) pro stock blades. The whole stick is pretty damn light too. All logos were removed because of contract issues, so it’s not the easiest to figure out what they are.  At any rate, these are other things that I probably wouldn’t normally buy. The shafts are probably about $100 each and the blades about $50 each.

Cool.

I might sell them all. I’m going to try them out tonight and see how I like them.

(1) Bauer Vapor XII  P88 Lindross blade. 77 flex. 99% brand new.

(1) Bauer Vapor XXV PM9 Malkin blade. 87 flex. 95% brand new.

(1) Bauer one90 PRO STOCK  P91-ish blade. 87 flex. 100% brand new. Chuck Kobasew pro stick from Boston Bruins.

All sticks are cut about an inch and a half down from stock Senior size. No damages to any of them. The XII has only been used inside to flip a puck around.

The XXV has been used in 2  pre game warm ups. a couple shots taken.

The one90 is brand new. Never used.
